Writing for yearbook: Part one

We know it’s easy to slide into go, go, go production mode.

Many students struggle with the shift to journalistic writing because it’s not like the writing styles they’ve learned for English class. This week, we’ll start by focusing on interviewing (because you can’t do journalism without interviews.) Next week, we’ll delve into the nuts and bolts of journalistic writing.

Be nice to teachers: One of the hardest parts of interviewing is choosing the right time to do it. Here’s an idea. Use this interview request form and ask teachers ahead of time which day and time would be best for them.
