Herff Jones Adviser Assistance
HOW TO YBK
Your network of helpers just got larger

We love eLearning resources, we love visual aids — and, we love our Herff Jones family. All spring and summer our network of HJ representatives and advisers has moved mountains to make sure everyone is ready to start the year. They’ve worked to create helpful tools you need to learn and teach yearbook virtually. With lots of collaboration, we posted a new eLearning page page in the spring, and now we are preparing a whole new place to provide you with virtual learning resources galore.

Here’s just a taste of what’s to come: Two quick videos filled with expert advice from our reps.

1. Five Tips for Setting Yourself Up for a Smooth, Successful School Year with Susan Happel (HJ rep in Massachusetts)
2. What's in the Box with Bob Wood (HJ rep in New York and Pennsylvania)
CONTENT IS KING

Now, expand your helper network even more

As you begin the school year (regardless of what that looks like for you), start with content collection at the absolute top of your list. And perhaps, make photography (and capturing every moment) a priority as well. BUT remember, for a school — and the book that captures a year in its life — people are more important than events. Even if the events are cancelled, the people still have stories to tell.
We’d like to introduce this amazing resource — HJ Content Creators — made specifically for this year and especially to make your life so much easier and your yearbook so much more awesome. Content Creators provide the following:
1. A HUGE list of coverage ideas that don’t rely on you being in school
2. Sample wording for emails/texts you can send directly to parents and students
3. Sample layouts from yearbooks that might work with the content you gather
4. Links to Google forms you can download, personalize and then send to gather stories, quotes and photos
Don’t miss these new Content Creators.
We think they will change your life.

Correction: In the Aug. 4 email, we suggested that you gather your student name lists for eBusiness (which is correct), but we incorrectly listed the requirements. Name lists must have, at a minimum, first name, last name AND grade columns in order to be uploaded to eBusiness. We apologize for this confusion.
