Little things make a big difference

As seasoned designers, you know the smallest thing can either speed up or slow down your process immensely, or just annoy you to death. That’s why we have worked so hard to make eDesign more intuitive and user-friendly.

This week we have three new functions to show you and, while they are not groundbreaking, they are still pretty cool. If you want something to move the earth beneath your yearbook feet, we’ve got Canva coming in May. Stay tuned for more on that.

THREE GREAT VIDEOS

1. Customize Color Swatches: What’s easier to remember? C:70, M:0, Y:100, K:0. or Grassy Green? And what if you have more than one shade of green in your palette? It’s hard to remember which is which. The process of creating and naming custom swatches in eDesign is super easy. Find Out More.

2. Save ALL the mods: If you are a fan of making your own mods and templates, (I mean who isn’t?) you know that the old eDesign made you choose two items to make a mod. No more. Now you can just select that perfect headline style and save it as a mod. See it happen.

3. Add photos in Page Design: You’re filling a template and you’re clicking right along. But then, you remember you need a photo, and you forgot to load it. Now, you can drop it on the Library panel. And guess what? It gets tagged and organized right there. It really is that easy.

It’s prime time for recruiting members for next year’s staff. Check out the resources on YearbookDiscoveries.com. And, once your book is finished, try holding exit interviews with your seniors. Have them prepare for it and give them a grade. It’s great practice for them. And for you, it means gleaning information you can use for next year. What went right? What went wrong?
