Use social media, school announcements and posters to remind students when and where to pick up their books. Be sure to include details on what they need to bring (receipt, ID, etc).
Set up tables in a logical order (check-in, pick-up, signing station). Consider using separate lines for different grades or last names. Decide how add-ons like name plates, dust jackets and supplements will be distributed.
Know how to handle students who didn’t pre-order. Will you have extras? How will you sell them? Create a system for keeping track of unclaimed books and where they can be picked up later.
Set up space for students to sign each other’s books. Encourage respectful signing — maybe even provide sample messages.
Prepare for missing orders, damaged books or incorrect names. Train your staff on how to handle complaints and talk through appropriate responses.
Take photos and videos of students enjoying their yearbooks for next year’s promo. Consider making a reel or carousel of images for social media!
